MAHWAH, NJ (10/22/22) – Emma Bellar won three events as the Kean University Women’s Swimming Team earned a 108-14 victory over Baruch College and a 99-23 win over Ramapo College in their New York opener. Jersey Athletic Conference Saturday afternoon.

Bellars won the 200 freestyle (2:03.39), 50 freestyle (25.42) and 100 butterfly (1:02.82), while assisting the 200 freestyle (1:52.49) and 200 freestyle (1:45.32) relays. Taylor Jacobson, Ashley Konz, Teagan Powell and Brianna Shaw all won two events apiece as the Cougars didn’t give up a run all afternoon. Jacobson placed first in the 1,000 freestyle (11:23.48) and 500 freestyle (5:34.67), Konz won first in the 100 backstroke (1:02.26) and the 200 backstroke (2:16.76), Powell won in the 100 breaststroke (1:10.60) and 200 breaststroke (2:33.76), Shaw won gold in the 200 butterfly (2:15.75) and 200 individual medley (2:21.78).
Abby burns won one event in the 100 backstroke (55.93) and was part of the 200 medley and 200 freestyle relay wins.
“This team has been locked in since day one and I can’t wait to see what we do next!”.
Coach Swenson and the Cougars will return to the pool in Glassboro, NJ on Friday, October 28eagainst the Rowan University Profs at 4:00 p.m.
