PORTLAND WHERE – This season, adidas hockey officially begins its efforts to “end plastic waste” and reuse plastics with the introduction of ADIZERO Primegreen Authentic NHL Jerseys for all 32 NHL teams. Made with an adidas Primegreen innovation: a series of high-performance materials containing a minimum of 50% recycled content, the ADIZERO Primegreen Authentic NHL jerseys will make their on-ice debut on the 2021-22 season opener on Tuesday. October 1st. 12.
This will be the first time all 32 NHL teams will take to the ice wearing team jerseys made from recycled materials.
“We know that plastic waste is a growing problem and we need to innovate in the way we make our products,” explained Dan Near, senior manager of adidas Hockey. “The new ADIZERO Primegreen NHL jerseys are an incredible example of how we bring this idea to life.”

Each team jersey will retain its classic stripe and logo, while sporting dimensional embroidery that draws attention to their durable materials, and two-layer twill that underlines the authenticity of the product.
This fall, the ADIZERO Primegreen Authentic NHL jerseys will be available in all 32 team colors at adidas.com, NHLShop.com, NHLShop.cathe new NHL Shop flagship store in New York and official NHL team stores.
Since 2012, adidas has been developing and introducing innovations that reduce the company’s overall carbon footprint – particularly plastic use – as part of its goal to completely eliminate the use of virgin polyesters by 2024.
