Hull KR have released another kit for the 2023 Super League season.

The Robin earlier this month unveiled their 2023 home shirt which is a vibrant and stylish little number with a solid red base and white sleeves and collar creating a sleek yet modern look for the Robins as they step into a new era under new boss Willie Peters.

Today saw the launch of their alternate shirt for 2023 which is inspired by a famous triumph that happened 40 years ago.

Similar to rivals Hull FC who remembered their 1983 Championship-winning side with a home shirt designed to echo the shirt in which the Black and Whites lifted the trophy, the Robins also drew inspiration from 1983 when they stunned a Queensland side on tour 8-6 in which Mike Smith emerged as the winner.

Their ethos here recalls the ethos used by Widnes a few years ago when they recalled their World Club Challenge battle with Canberra with an away shirt designed to echo the traditional look of the Raiders and Hull KR did the same.

Their alternate shirt has a maroon base and gold detailing which adorns the look of the kit and makes it a brilliant homage to Queensland, a shirt the Maroons themselves would love to wear.

The release of the shirt undoubtedly proceeds with the release of an outer shirt that will be worn when there are color clashes, after all, brown doesn’t make much difference to red.

So, like Hull FC, the Robins have released home and alternative kits for 2023 and don’t be surprised to see the Robins wearing this Queensland shirt at Magic Weekend.

Their opponents for that day were confirmed today to be the Salford Red Devils.

More details on the Magical Weekend can be found here.
