MANASQUAN, NJ — A city liquor store is raising money this weekend for the Aaron Van Trease family with a special donation when customers buy a bottle of Beach Badge wine.
The Spirit of 76 store, 119 Taylor Ave., is donating $10 for every bottle of wine sold this weekend to support Aaron’s recovery.
Van Trease, 18, a quarterback for Saint John Vianney High School in Holmdel, suffered a spinal injury early in a Sept. 23 game. He is recovering at RWJ Barnabas Hospital in New Brunswick.
Beach Badge wine is on special sale for $39.99, according to the store flyer. The wine is presented in a personalized, hand-painted bottle that can be displayed or given as a gift.
Since the accident, the greater community has come to the support of her and her family with a variety of fundraisers and donations to help pay the family’s medical bills.
The Saint John Vianney Lancers quarterback heard big names in football, like Tom Brady, who offered words of encouragement. And other video greetings from past pros can be found on the Saint John Vianney SiteFacebook. The site also offers t-shirts for sale to help raise funds.
